Doctor Discussion Guide

This guide can help you talk to your doctor.

You’re the expert of your story and your needs. This guide should only take a few minutes to fill out but can help you share your experience and goals with your doctor—and the more they know, the better your treatment plan can suit you.

When you’re done, you can save it all as a PDF or print it out to take with you to your appointment.

This is the progress-bar-lines.

Which of these describes where you are right now?
Do these frequent infections cause you to miss days of work or school, make doctor appointments, or even cause hospitalizations?
Where would you like your infusions to take place?
Ideally, who would give (administer) your infusions?
Which infusion schedule would you prefer?
How long are you comfortable spending at each infusion?
What’s the maximum number of needlesticks that you would be comfortable with at each infusion?
Are you aware of the options for treating PI? (This helps your doctor know where to guide you.)

Here are some example questions you can ask your doctor, too:

What can change about my treatment to address my biggest concerns?

What should I know about the different choices?

Which do you think is right for me, based on my answers?

Knowing that you would receive training from a nurse, would you ever consider self-infusion?
Would you be interested in a subQ IG (under the skin) or an IVIG (in the vein) therapy that can be infused by a nurse?

What are your goals or hesitations about therapy?

That's it!
