Discover a treatment plan that works for you

GAMMAGARD LIQUID is administered as an intravenous (IV) infusion, meaning it’s delivered into a vein. Where and when the infusion happens are both things you’ll decide on with your doctor based on what’s right for you. Keep in mind that you or your doctor may change your treatment plan over time depending on your personal situation and your symptoms.

When crafting your plan, think about how infusions will fit into your everyday routine.

Infusion Center Information

An infusion center is an outpatient clinic that is certified to administer infusion therapy. It is often a cozy setting staffed with knowledgeable people who specialize in infusion therapy. These facilities have advanced medical equipment and often provide personalized care to meet your needs.

Some people use their infusion time to nap, read a book, or phone a friend. Consider what you might want to do during your infusion time. Tell your nurse if you need anything that will make you more comfortable. Often, nurses can dim the lights, bring you a blanket, or offer a heat pack for your IV site.

There are many individuals involved in a single infusion treatment, all working together to ensure a safe and comfortable experience. From the prescribing doctor to the facility staff, the administrators, and the infusion nurses, each role contributes to patient care in an important way.

Understanding the insurance process can
make a difference

When you are prescribed a specialty medicine like GAMMAGARD LIQUID, your doctor may be required to reach out to your health plan to get preapproval for your treatment. Work with your doctor’s office to ensure you know what your insurance covers and how much GAMMAGARD LIQUID will cost.

First step: Benefits verification

Your doctor’s office will complete a benefits verification on your behalf. They will work with your insurance company to determine if:

  • GAMMAGARD LIQUID is covered under your health plan
  • How much insurance will pay
  • What your deductible will be
  • How much you will pay out of pocket

Once the office receives this information, ask the office manager to review your benefits verification results with you. This will help you understand what you are responsible for.

  • Your doctor’s office will send the necessary forms and documents to your insurance company
  • Once your insurance company reviews the prior authorization, you and your doctor’s office will be notified if you are approved for therapy
